When you were a little kid, you will usually get asked what you want to become when you grow up. Most of the professions that kids will say are they want to be an astronaut, a doctor, a scientist, a policeman/woman, and many more, but you rarely ever hear them say they want to become an architect.

The school buildings from where they get their education was created, in part, by an architect. The office buildings that their parents go to on a daily basis- that was built by the designs created by an architect.

You could say that they are the unsung heroes of this generation. But, becoming one is actually a pretty good thing. Today, I am going to talk about why you should study architecture and why it will help you land a job in an architecture company of your choosing.

1. They Teach You to Become a Good Problem Solver

Architects are actually problem solvers. They are taught to become such by giving you pieces of information and scenarios and it is up to you how you can solve some problems. The thing is known as the design process.
Even if you do not aspire to become an architect after you graduate, the things that you can learn in school can actually help you later in life.

2. You Can Travel the Whole World

All architecture students will be asked to travel the world to experience and feel what it is like in different countries and to experience the multitude of cultures there is.
As a student, you might be compelled to go to popular scenic spots in order for you to pick apart the elements that made those structures awe-inspiring and remarkable.

3. It is a Haven for Creators

There are some people who have the knack for creating drawings, sketches, 3D models, collages, paintings, portfolios, photographs, and many more.
If you have the knack for creating a lot of things, then being an architect is definitely in your blood. In fact, it is one of the only jobs that will allow you to have the freedom of creative expression.

4. Helps You Build a Network and Create Lasting Friendships

One of the things that architecture schools will teach you is to help create new friendships and build your own network. From your immediate classmates to your clients, you are encouraged to become a good communicator.
For example, the American Institute of Architecture Students pool people from all over the world to have a chat with one another and to also learn new things in the field. They also host plenty of conferences that you can attend to continuously hone your craft as well.

5. It Helps You Know What You Are Capable of

Architecture students are thrust into the adult world more readily than other courses. That is because, during their freshmen year, they are already bombarded with a lot of things to do, a lot of concepts to learn, and this will really help you manage your time.
The things that you can get in school will allow you to become a better individual when you grow up.
