Commonly Used Settings
Light curtains function as a sort of tripwire and are used to shield workers with the ability to inflict damage in the area of moving equipment. Usually, light curtains are attached to a safety relay and then manages the specific phase of extracting the motive power from the danger. Few protection relays can also be fitted with a muting capability, which enables the device to be momentarily disabled. For instance, muting may enable artifacts to move through the curtains without tripping the protection relay.
Safety relays that are pressure-sensitive can be used in combination with protective mats to maintain employee health, and other protective measures may be substituted. For example, a set of light curtains may be set up to allow objects to pass through it while the safety mat is turned on, allowing access to load or unload a machine. Protection mats may also be used as a single protective precaution. Much like light curtains, when triggered, they can be programmed to invoke a stop signal.
Protection equipment such as a three-position monitor may be necessary when troubleshooting an application and this group involves a range of devices. Three-positioned systems also have a pressure-sensitive joystick that is placed in a particular working position, so when the consumer lets go of the joystick, it can move to the normal stop location.
A magnetic switch is helpful in situations where closing a door or hatch is important, or intersecting or aligning two items with each other. When communication between the two sensors is lost, an immediate stop signal may be transmitted to the correct relay to avoid safe operation of the system. Magnetic switches are very small, making them convenient to place or cover when used in gates or switches. Since no mechanical interaction is needed for action, a magnetic switch always takes a long service life. Wind, soil, and dust do not impact magnetic switches, creating a range of climates and situations for their use.
Emergency stop buttons
Emergency Stop buttons or E-stop is used to interrupt a computer as it breaks down in a dangerous situation. All E-stop buttons are red in colour with yellow housing. Any emergency stop buttons may also have an emergency grab cable, allowing contact with the stop system even though the button itself is at a distance.
OMRON Safety Relays
One of the best examples of a safety relay is OMRON safety relays. Their safety relays are used for the design of protective loops for machinery and installations. They also have a forced guided mechanism which enables touch welding to be detected. The safety relays produced by OMRON are very reliable and guarantee safety.
